Miller for State Senate Campaign’s
Local Support Continues to Grow
Adds Endorsements of Current and Former Mayors
of
Monona, Lodi and Stoughton and McFarland
Village President
Monona – On the
heels of major endorsements from Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk
and Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, the Mark Miller for State Senate
campaign today added more support from community leaders in the 16th
District with the endorsements of Lodi Mayor Paul Fisk, Monona Mayor
Robb Kahl, McFarland Village President Erik Thoresen, as well as
former Monona Mayor Dean Bowles and former Stoughton Mayors Liniel
Cooper and Robert Barnett, Jr.
“I’m proud to add
the support of mayors from the 16th District communities
of Monona, Lodi, McFarland and Stoughton. I’m honored and humbled
by the positive response to my message of offering real solutions to
the critical issue we face today,” commented Miller.
Lodi Mayor Paul
Fisk stated, “Mark Miller is the kind of
leader we need in the State Senate, he’s more interested in solving
a problem than getting the headline and that’s why he has my support.”
In endorsing
Miller, Monona Mayor Robb Kahl said, “As Mayor of Monona, I’ve
worked on many issues with Mark Miller, but what has really
impressed me is how hard Mark works to serve his constituents, be it
helping a senior apply for the state prescription drug benefit to
helping some one resolve a problem with a state agency.” Former
Monona Mayor Dean Bowles added, “Mark
Miller has always been there for the people he represents. For him,
the people, not special interests, come first. He does his homework
and knows the issues.”
McFarland Village
President Erik Thoresen commented, “In the 48th District,
Mark has represented the needs of established communities like
Monona and fast-growing areas like McFarland. He’s done it by
listening to what we need and then taking action.”
Former Stoughton
Mayor Liniel Cooper commented, “Mark Miller
will make a great State Senator. He has the record offering real
solutions to the issues facing our communities,” while
former Stoughton Mayor Robert Barnett, Jr. added, “He’s not afraid
to stand up and fight for what he believes in whether that means
taking on Republicans or powerful special interests.”
“The support of
these leaders throughout the 16th Senate District
reflects my commitment to and work in fostering cooperation between
our state and local governments. Their support adds to the momentum
of my campaign,” concluded Miller.
