Madison – The Mark Miller
For State Senate campaign announced another major endorsement today
receiving the support of Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz in the race
for the 16th Senate District. In offering his
endorsement Mayor Cieslewicz said, “I am pleased to endorse Mark
Miller because he is a true progressive and he has the work ethic to
find real solutions to the challenges we face.
He continued, “Mark Miller
has the experience, genuine leadership and integrity to get the job
done. He doesn’t need a poll to tell him where he stands. His
record in the Assembly demonstrates that he’s interested in finding
real solutions to the issues people care about, and not making
unproductive partisan soundbites. Mark Miller is the candidate who
is talking about the issues and who has the leadership to find the
right solutions.”
In accepting Mayor
Cieslewicz’s support Miller commented, “People are looking for
solutions to the issues they care about—providing affordable health
care, protecting our clean air and water, improving our public
education system for their kids and a family supporting job for
themselves. They deserve more than sound bites, they deserve real
solutions.”
In the last session of the
legislature Miller, as a member of the State Assembly, offered
legislation to:
-
Provide health care coverage to every Wisconsin
resident.
-
Protect clean air and water by increasing
renewable energy and expanding recycling.
-
Ensure businesses receiving state subsidies pay
their employees a living wage.
In addition, Miller voted
against efforts to cut funding for smaller class sizes and early
childhood education.
Miller stated, “Madison is a
great city, and Mayor Cieslewicz’s leadership will ensure that it
stays that way. I will continue to work with Mayor Cieslewicz and
other local leaders to make all our cities and towns great places to
live, work and raise our families.”
“My campaign is about
Wisconsin’s citizens and real solutions. Mayor Cieslewicz has
always stood for the people, and he’s proven that the people, not
money, can determine who wins. His support, in addition to County
Executive Kathleen Falk and hundreds of grass-roots supporters, adds
to the momentum of the campaign,” concluded Miller.
