Madison – Dane
County Executive Kathleen Falk today endorsed Mark Miller in the
Democratic primary election for the 16th Senate District
saying, “I’m proud to endorse Mark Miller in the race for the State
Senate. Mark Miller both has progressive values and will work hard
to find real solutions to the issues facing our citizens.”
Falk has served as Dane
County Executive since 1997 winning two county-wide elections. She
ran for Governor in 2002 as a Democrat and carried Dane County with
over 50% of the vote in a three-way primary.
Miller said, “County
Executive Falk’s endorsement is immensely important to my campaign
and to me personally. Kathleen has been a leader in land use
management, protecting Wisconsin’s children and promoting efficient
government. She offers concrete solutions to tough issues.”
“On the Dane County Board,
Mark Miller was a leader and ally in our efforts to balance the
county budget while maintaining critical community services and
preserve open spaces. In the Assembly, Mark has stood out by
offering real solutions to the issues facing our communities. He is
the kind of leader Dane County and Wisconsin need in the state
Senate,” commented Falk.
Among the real solutions
Miller offered as a member of the Assembly was legislation to expand
access to health care for every Wisconsin citizen, improve recycling
of consumer electronics, increase energy conservation and efficiency
and target state development dollars to businesses that pay family
supporting wages. Miller also worked with County Executive Falk and
authored state legislation clearing the way for the merger of the
Madison and Dane County health departments to be more efficient with
tax dollars and to deliver better public health services for
citizens.”
Miller stated, “My
commitment to the people of the 16th Senate District is
to always let them know where I stand and offer real solutions to
move our communities and Wisconsin forward on critical issues like
expanding health care, creating good paying jobs, investing in our
children’s education and protecting our clean air and water.”
He concluded, “I’m proud to
have the support of County Executive Falk for my campaign and hope
to earn the support of the people of the 16th Senate
District in the upcoming election so I can continue to work on their
behalf.”
